Terna: Luigi Ferraris (CEO) signs an agreement to develop power plants on an industrial scale

On 19 April 2019, Luigi Ferraris, CEO and General Manager of Terna, signed a non-binding agreement with the CEOs of Cdp (Cassa Depositi e Prestiti), Finacantieri and Eni, to develop and build wave power stations on an industrial scale.

The agreement, signed at the Eni Headquarters in Rome, is aimed to combine the expertise of the collective companies to transform the ISWEC (Inertial Sea Wave Energy Converter) pilot project into an industrial scale project for immediate application and use. Terna, in particular, will contribute by developing the study of the best possib le options for connecting and integrating the Energy production system with the electricity grid. Luigi Ferraris stated that, with this framework agreement, “Terna invests in the sustainable innovation for the energetic transition“. As Mr. Ferraris explained, Terna utterly confides in the fact that “the company’s own expertise can contribute to the acknowledgement of new renewable Energy sources in order to make the Energy system more efficient and sustainable“.
