The birth of the FTC manufacturing hub

In an ambitious move to strengthen the luxury footwear industry, FTC (Filiera Toscana della Calzatura) manufacturing hub has been established, consolidating four prominent companies under one umbrella. Spearheaded by Michele Paris, a seasoned entrepreneur with extensive experience in the fashion and luxury sectors, FTC aims to enhance the value of artisanal expertise while also improving operational efficiency within the industry. Paris leads the effort through his company P4, with the backing of Azimut, a private equity fund that holds a significant minority stake exceeding 30%.

The FTC hub comprises four well-respected Tuscan enterprises that collectively generate around 30 million euros in revenue. These are Solettificio Jannelli, located in Montevarchi, Arezzo, renowned for manufacturing insoles primarily for women’s high heels; Danimarc, based in Ponticelli-Santa Maria a Monte, Pisa, which specializes in TPU-printed soles for sneakers; APAM International from Fucecchio, Florence, known for crafting soles for both men’s formal shoes and high-end sneakers; and Fagiolini, situated in Santa Croce sull’Arno, Pisa, which focuses on leather processing for shoe uppers and leather goods. The founders of these companies will continue to lead their respective businesses while integrating into the new structure.

The primary objective behind the aggregation is to harness the artisanal know-how embedded in these companies, while simultaneously enhancing their operational framework. As stated in Finance Community, the goal is not just to preserve the unique craftsmanship that each company is known for, but also to elevate managerial expertise under the coordination of CEO Mario Zanini. By pooling resources and knowledge, FTC is positioned to offer comprehensive solutions to the marketplace, catering to the evolving demands of luxury footwear consumers.

With this strategic alliance, FTC stands poised to leverage the strengths of each participating company, promoting innovation and efficiency without compromising the traditional craftsmanship that defines Italian luxury. The concentration of expertise and collaborative approach of FTC will create a formidable entity capable of responding to market trends while maintaining high quality, thus securing Tuscany’s reputation in the luxury footwear segment.
