Acqua Sant’Anna acquires french company Eau Neuve

In a significant move that counters the trend of Italian companies being acquired by foreign firms, Acqua Sant’Anna, a leader in the bottled water market, has announced its acquisition of the French company Compagnie des Pyrénées, which owns the Eau Neuve brand.

The partnership between the Cuneo-based Acqua Sant’Anna and the Pyrenees-based company is built on shared values and aims to create a robust synergy that will propel both brands forward. Acqua Sant’Anna is committed to preserving the identity and expertise of Eau Neuve, ensuring continuity for its employees and the local community. This approach aims to maintain the core values that have driven Eau Neuve’s steady growth in the French market.

This acquisition comes in response to a rising demand for sustainable, high-quality products, solidifying Acqua Sant’Anna’s presence in the dynamic and promising French market. It also marks a crucial step toward internationalizing its brands and products, known for their high-quality, low-mineral content, and enhancing export opportunities across both retail and HORECA (hotel, restaurant, café) channels. The company has partnered with Scouting Capital & Family Advisors for financial advisory services and PwC for legal, accounting, and tax due diligence.

Alberto Bertone, founder, President, and CEO of Acqua Sant’Anna Spa, views this acquisition as a pivotal element in the company’s international growth strategy. It strengthens their foothold in the European market, particularly in France, while expanding their portfolio of strategic products for a multichannel approach. “I firmly believe that growth comes through investment, and this operation fits perfectly into our strategy”, said Bertone. He added that the next steps involve developing their presence in the French and broader European markets by exporting their successful business model. The acquisition of Eau Neuve will also enhance their offerings, especially in the HORECA sector.

The integration of Acqua Sant’Anna into the Compagnie des Pyrénées will focus on continuity and collaboration, with Sebastien Crussol, the company’s founder, remaining a partner and taking on the role of General Manager and Board Member.

Sebastien Crussol expressed pride in joining the Sant’Anna Group, highlighting that the company’s inspiring success serves as a model for their aspirations. “All employees at Compagnie des Pyrénées are excited to work towards a common goal, emphasizing sharing, innovation, and a deep respect for the environment”, he stated.
