Digital innovation: Vittorio Massone’s new professional challenge

The Boards of Directors of Alkemy S.p.A. appointed Vittorio Massone Director and Vice President of the company, with specific focus on Business and Corporate Development. A manager with deep experience in digital innovation, who held roles of great responsibility during his career, he will help Alkemy S.p.A. in its activities in the fields of digital and business model transformation, with a focus on large and medium-sized companies. Specialized in providing innovative services to improve companies’ economic performances, Alkemy S.p.A. has recently announced the reorganization of its structure into the business units of “consulting & performance”, “brand experience”, “tech” and “data & analytics”: this new industrialization phase will be supported by the appointment of the new Director Vittorio Massone, who, with his deep experience in business models transformation, will help the company to support the activities of the top-level clients Alkemy S.p.A. works with. On the strength of his great knowledge of management and strategic consultancy, the manager will provide a valuable contribution in addressing the challenges deriving from the recent transition of the company to the STAR segment of Borsa Italiana’s Main Market. Vittorio Massone is no stranger to assignments and experiences of such importance, as showed by his long career and the previous top roles he held.

Digital transformation, successful operations, and team “diversity”: the career of Vittorio Massone

The career of the new Director of Alkemy S.p.A. reflects his commitment to supporting the transformation process of several traditional companies, as well as his deep experience in the advisory business. Vittorio Massone holds a Degree in Economics with full marks from the Sapienza University of Rome (1989), and obtained a Master in Business Administration at the Bocconi University of Milan in 1992. He started his career at Klopman Textile Industry (Burlington Group), holding the position of Business Analyst. After this professional experience, he joined the management consulting firm Value Partners as an Associate, and later continued his career at Bain & Company, where he moved in 1994 to hold roles of increasing responsibility: Vittorio Massone started as Manager in 1995, and became Partner in 1999 and then Director in 2004. Over time, his positions continued to grow in importance, and led him to be involved in complex operations in the functional areas of strategy, organization, merger and acquisitions, customer experience, operational improvement, and procurement. He worked with big clients the likes of Walt Disney, Rai, Consip, Sviluppo Italia (currently Invitalia), Coni Servizi, Gruppo Espresso, and Il Sole 24 Ore, and, specifically, he successfully managed the acquisition of Virgilio/Matrix in 1999, the turnaround of Seat Pagine Gialle between 1997 and 2001, and the turnaround of Poste Italiane between 2002 and 2008. Among his roles of great responsibility, Vittorio Massone has been the leading figure for Bain & Company Africa, which he joined as a Managing Partner in 2010, and which he helped to start up the company’s operations. He as well supported the creation of a team of 200 people particularly focused on digital projects, and brought his managerial vision based on team “diversity”. He is currently Member of YPO, the Premier Leadership Organization of Chief Executive Officers, with approximately 28,000 members.
