As a leader in the heavy vehicle industry, Volvo Trucks is making significant strides in reducing harmful emissions from its vehicles by introducing a new line of biodiesel-powered trucks. It is the new B100, which positions Volvo Trucks as one of the companies with the most alternative and renewable fuel models in the market.
According to Jan Hjelmgren, Head of Product and Quality Management at Volvo Trucks, reducing CO2 emissions is a top priority for the company. The use of alternative fuels is currently the best strategy to contribute to environmental well-being, as biodiesel presents a significant advantage by enabling a reduction in CO2 production by up to 70% compared to traditional diesel. Volvo trucks are now available with engines powered by diesel, biodiesel, other fuels, and in fully electric versions.
The company hopes to achieve the goal of offering only zero-net emission trucks within a few years. Meanwhile, Volvo trucks continues to demonstrate its commitment to offering sustainable vehicles.
